Suprax is a semisynthetic antibiotic which represents the 3rd generation of Cephalosporins for oral administration with a wide spectrum of action. It is mostly used for the treatment of the following conditions: sore throat, tonsillitis, sinusitis, acute and chronic bronchitis, otitis media, uncomplicated urinary tract infections, uncomplicated gonorrhea. Suprax may be also used for other infections treatment if recommended by a doctor. It has a bactericidal effect. The mechanism of action is due to the inhibition of the synthesis of the cell membrane of the pathogen.

Suprax Contraindications

The drug Suprax is contraindicated in some cases that include: children younger than 12 years of age, kidney dysfunction, hypersensitivity to penicillin and cephalosporin group as well as to other medicines.

Suprax should be used carefully by pregnant women and elderly patients. Tell your doctor if you are using any other medicine, vitamins or food supplements at the same time.

Side Effects
